The Asian Muaythai Championship is an annual amateur competition within the Asian-region, and is organized by the International Federation of Muaythai Association (IFMA), the world governing body for the sport.
This year, for the first time, the United Arab Emirates will host the 2019 Championship in the capital city of Abu Dhabi. The Championship will bring together more than 300 athletes and officials from over 35 countries from the 17th until the 21st December.
The Asian Muaythai Championship is a five-day action-packed competition that will take place at the Muaythai Arena, Corniche Flag Pole Area which is a vibrant and popular area along Abu Dhabi’s Corniche and is set against the dazzling Abu Dhabi skyline.
Abu Dhabi will also witness for the first-time, the ‘Asian Youth Championship, which sets a stage for juniors to compete in Asia’s most significant medal-winning event.
By promoting the five pillars of Muaythai: respect, honor, tradition, fair-play and excellence, elite and youth athletes will be challenged to become the Muaythai Gold of Asia.
The UAE National Championships demonstrated that they are ready to host events of any level and the Asian Championships is a great opportunity to bring the world Muaythai elite to their beautiful country.
